I had the joy of going to the Grand Palladium Resort and Spa for an all inclusive vacation getaway in Jamaica!
But before I even got there, my trip started with a complete airport fail when I was turned away from Spirit Airlines at the Ft Lauderdale International Airport for the bad condition of my passport. I wasn't allowed to fly on my expected flight and I had to hurry to Miami and get an emergency passport at the Passport Agency. Luckily I managed to get a replacement that same day and fly out the very next morning!
Our friends were sweet enough to let me stay at their beautiful home on Dania Beach, FL with family while they went ahead to Jamaica. The whole house looked like a museum (pictured above)
I landed in Montego Bay and met with our driver and new friend Mr. Oshea. He was the bridge between me and the true feel of Jamaica and he made sure I had everything I needed and saw all that I wanted to see
The resort was massive and beautiful and covered in West Indies type of decor with hints of Carribean details and symbols. I loved the suite and the ammenities. Had to get an authentic Jamaican beef patty.
There were amazing restaurants and shops on the resort. Every pool had a beautiful view and fully stocked bar!
I loved being able to get off the resort for a bit but I was smacked in the face with the reality of the poverty and crime happening all over the island.
Overall we had an amazing trip and experience including paddle boarding, kayaking, dancing, performances and some of the spiciest jerk chicken I have ever tasted in my life!
